Call me crazy, but I actually get MORE fatigued from using these lamps. Anyone else in the same boat, and if so, how did you manage this?

Years ago when using the lightbox early in the morning I used to fall back to sleep in front of it! This would be about 4.30am which I felt was too early so I used it for an hour around dinner time instead which was so much better!

What time are you using the lightbox?

Thinking about it.

When I first got my light box 10 years ago, I had a period of time when I was elated. Then a few weeks later I seem to remember dropping off in front of the box!

I reckon it was something to do with the time I was using it, and making sure that |I was doing something whilst in front of the light.

Earlier this year I used the box about 6.30am for half hour whilst reading and that worked a treat. I also topped up when needed during the day.

Thanks guys.

I use my around between 8-9 am when I first wake up. I've yet to "fall asleep in front of it" (!) but I do turn off the light, get up, and within an hour crash back into a 1 1/2 hour nap.

I normally sleep about 8 1/2 hours per night, but I'm considering cutting that down to 6 (less melatonin secretion?)...and also waking up at 7 am for my light therapy.

Thanks again for your stories. After all, it's just nice to know that other people have experience the OPPOSITE (tiredness) of what everyone else reports.

If you have any more suggestions, please toss them at me.

I did and it was ok but I haven't got the box out for the last 2 years. I know I should but I do get worse headaches with the light too so I don't bother with it much these days! I did use it for about an hour each night but not too late.

lol can't add a wb link :) the article is under information on this site. It is about using light therapy to treat bipolar. Some participants in the study found their symptoms worsened if they used light therapy in the morning.
