Hi there,

I am thinking of buying this Bodyclock "Bodyclock ELITE 300"
but haven't been able to find any reviews on it yet.

If anyone has tried and tested this model please could you answer a few questions about it for me?

What are the range of natural wake up sounds like? Could you list them all for me as it doesn't give any detail on this in the description. Is the loop noticable? Are there any that are more annoying than others?

I was told that on this model the sounds run on a 60second loop/repeat which is really good and long compaired to others I have read about; but are there any wake up sounds that are noticably annoying?

If I am awake during the day but decide I would like some light thearapy could I use this as a SAD light and sit by at it for say 30minutes on its strongest sunlight/wake up point setting?

Is there an option on there? or any way to do that?

My problems with SAD are relatively mild so I don't need a strong separate light. But it would be great to have the option to get a little burst of sunshine when I feel a bit blue.

Lastly is there anything random good or bad you could tell me about this model?

Any help would be very much appreciated as it is quite pricey and a large investment for us, so I want to get it just right.

thanks :)

Hi,I got one of these at the weekend, so still relatively new to it, but I can tell you some of the things you need to know...

The natural sounds are:
Rain, Waves, Birdsong/Dawn chorus, and White Noise.
There's also two music tracks, Soft and Hard ( oo er ! ), and two spoken word tracks that basically tell you to get up. Ones assertive and ones gentle.
I didnt notice any looping, but my boyfriend did, but he didnt find it particularly annoying.

As for if any are more annoying than the others, I guess youd have to figure out which one bugs you the most! There is a beeping standard alarm setting as well, that Im pretty sure will wake me up even on my most lethargic days!

There is a way to keep the light on at its brightest, for as long as you want ( just using it as a lamp ) but im not qualifed to say if that would be any use for treating SAD. It is pretty bright though.

Overall, im happy with mine, it is a pain to tune the radio ( takes forever ), but other than that, no snags that I can see yet. You can also use presets to keep radio channels you like, and also and SD card slot, so you could use favorite tracks as wake ups.
Im impressed with mine, but I have bought it to help me more with waking up as opposed to treating SAD. Hope this helps.

"it is a pain to tune the radio ( takes forever)" oh ? Did not have that problem. Are you using the auto-tuning (keep the button pressed so it search the next station) ?

The only problem I had so far is that I "froze" the alarm-clock when trying to read the content of my SDCard... I guess it did not like my mp3.

Thanks so much for responding here, I thought my post had been missed as there was a huge debate going on in another thread. I just checked back to ask again, so thank you for that info and if anyone else has anything additional it would be most appreciated. :)

Press "S" until you see "Dawn Chorus", then press the Tuning buttons to move in the list of pre-recorded tracks.
The meditation sounds are after the various wakeup sounds.

Also thinking of buying the elite 300 but still have couple of questions.
What kind of sd card is used?
Can I swap the one that comes with it for one of my own?
About the mp3's, do they have to be a specific bitrate?
Thank you all :)!

I absolutely love my new lumie clock! I've had one of the "cheaper ones" for years now and just treated myself to the newer version.

It comes highly recommended. I love the different sounds and the meditations, and I'm guessing you can download new meditations from meditatainment to an sd card????

Either way, love it! Have been recommending them to everyone!

We are unable to access any of the wake up sounds - other than the beep - or sleep/meditation sounds. We can scroll through them and see what should be there but can't hear anything. Setting the wake audio to dawn chorus etc just gives no noise even with volume on max. The radio works ok. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I've just bought the Elite 300, really pleased with it. However, although I've only tried it with one of the natural sounds when waking up, it always comes on on the default volume setting of 4 and not the last setting you used which it says should happen in the manual. Is this happening with everybody elses? Maybe it's a software issue or the manuals wrong? I could do with the natural sound being a little bit louder that's all.

Are you setting the sound volume then waiting until the clock clears the written instructions from the face ? If not it will revert to its default setting. Set it and wait for a minute or so until the settings disapear on their own this should solve it.

Yes, as far as I'm aware I am doing that. After I've set a new volume, I leave it to clear, if I then select the radio for example, it comes on at the volume I last set. But in the morning when the audio comes on, it's always at the default setting of 4. I presume this isn't the case with yours?

Try selecting the radio first then adjust the volume ?
Mine seems to get louder as I ignore it and snuggle in lol
Try e mailing lumie they are very helpful. As I said in a previous post they replied same day with advice and it solved my problem. They all seem to have minds of there own looking at the posts

Yeah, I've tried that as well, no luck. I spoke to Lumie and the guy I spoke to said it was supposed to come on at level 4 and they were considering a software update, which doesn't make sense if yours does what it says in the manual?

The manual says the default setting is four, But it also says " Previous volume settings will be saved for next used Unless this is 0 then the default setting will be used. Try using the radio on a higher setting then switch on the alarm and try that .

yes, I've tried that, still no luck. All I need to confirm with someone is that when they use the audio feature for waking up, that the volume it comes on at is the setting they left it on last time and it doesn't come on on the default setting.

Does anyone know if you can adjust the low setting on the display so that you can see the clock more clearly during the night?
