Hi Everybody,
I am so glad I found this site but anyway, I just wanted to share my story of SAD with you. I basically self diagnosed myself earlier this year. This diagnosis was made purely accidentally and with pure luck on my part. I had been feeling severely depressed, tired, suicidal with every bad feeling that you can possibly imagine. I woke up one morning in tears and continued to cry through the morning and so I thought I would lay down in my bed and watch a little TV and I opened up the blinds and it was beautiful sunny day. Mind you, I was expecting nothing and only thinking about suicide and as I laid here, everything bad that I had been feeling just melted away, like magic and I became so happy. So I had to stop and think for a minute - wait, what just happened here? How can one person be suicidal one minute and extremely happy the next minute (I even got my music out and was singing and I had not done that in a long time..it felt so good)? I reasoned within myself that it had to be the sun. I mean it had to be...that was the only logical explanation and I was absolutely right. Anyway, I got the help I needed and bought a light therapy box which I have to use more than the usual 30 minutes - I have to use it for several hours. You see, I have felt this way since about moving into my home 20 years ago. We have a finished basement and I spend the majority of my time down in the basement and now I spend even more time as now I work at home in my basement for a local hospital. I know that there is a small percentage of us out there that get SAD this severely and I know that I am one of them but now I finally have the help I need and I am finally happy. Thank you Jesus!!

Donna,
I'm so glad you're doing better. Light therapy can really be so helpful. Can I ask what sort of work you do from home? I am glad you joined us here. :)

I think that sometimes the other folks around here get really bogged down with dealing with SAD and the forum goes through a bit of a lull period.

I am running on pure adrenaline for now because we have a Convention for work next weekend and I brought some work home for me to do.

I've been convinced for Years that I have SAD. This year it hit me much earlier than usual and happened almost over night. Yesterday I knelt beside my bed and asked God for help and last night after coming home from work at 11:00 pm I found this wonderful site. PRAYERS ANSWERED! Will be looking into light therapy today.I`m waiting for the stores to open. I am so excited! Today I`m praying for sun!
